The CFA Kids & Teens Program consists of structured classes where your child will learn new skills, participate in fitness games, races, obstacle courses and complete short workouts. Our CFA Kids Club is suitable for 5-11 year olds. If you were to walk into a class, it may look like play but there is a lot of work going on developmentally. There is a huge emphasis on activities that help with cognitive, social and motor development whilst at the same time having fun! Using a combination of calisthenics, running, rowing, jumping, throwing, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing and lifting (basically all the things we used to call ‘playing!’) we get children to LOVE exercise. We use age-appropriate skills, challenges and loads. We challenge children in a fun and progressive way and help them develop a growth mindset. Our CFA Teens Program is designed for 12-15 year olds and combines age-appropriate weightlifting and gymnastics with high intensity training to deliver optimal fitness and performance, as well as establish a lifetime love of fitness. Proper weightlifting techniques are taught under the watchful eye of our Coaches to enhance strength and power, while also focusing on basic gymnastics to increase agility, mobility and flexibility. We want to give your child the strength, both physically and mentally, to tackle any obstacle thrown their way inside or out of the gym. With workouts that are scalable for all individuals, our CFA Teens program can equally benefit both the accomplished athlete as well as the less active individual. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of Maura McCann who is a qualified Teacher and CrossFit Level 2 Coach with almost 20 years experience of coaching children. All the workouts and skills in our CFA Kids & Teens Program will be modified to meet the specific needs of each individual child. |
