People who aren't involved in CrossFit often joke about it being one big cult. Of course, it's not a cult, but there is no doubt about it, the sense of community is a strong point of difference for CrossFit gyms compared to your average Joe "globo gyms". This sets us apart.
In some aspects, CrossFit can be compared to a team sport whereby you feel as though you are part of an environment where everybody is working towards a common goal – to continually improve strength, fitness and become a better version of themselves, as cheesy as that sounds.
Our community will also push you harder than you could ever possibly imagine. When you think you've hit a dark place in a workout and you want to stop or give up, our members will encourage you and lift you up and make sure you get over the line! It might feel like torture at the time, but boy does it feel good afterwards!
Everyone knows your name. Everyone wants you to smash the workout. Everyone will push you on. Everyone will congratulate you after the session and most importantly, everyone is in the same boat!!
You might be wondering why this fits into our weekly Wellness Wednesday post, but it's very simple really. Without the community we build within the four walls of our gym, our members wouldn't experience the daily highs and lows, pain, torture, banter, buzz, adrenaline, friendships, challenges and triumphs that come with CrossFit. And all those things put together make us better and healthier people.
When you join a CrossFit gym like ours, going to a class becomes a hobby rather than a chore!
That's why we love CrossFit and love our community.
